Cataract Falls Recreation Area
The Cataract Falls Recreation Area is a great place for Indiana visitors to enjoy; the falls are located in the picturesque terrain of the Mill Creek Basin and are the largest falls in the state of Indiana. The series of waterfalls run over a limestone bed, and you can even walk behind the falls. Activities include boating, fishing, wading, and picnicking on the shore. There is also an historic covered bridge and crosses the Eel River (or Mill Creek), just above the Upper Falls. The Cataract Falls Covered Bridge is one of the last remaining bridges in the state; the bridge was built in 1882 by the Smith Bridge Company. The falls and the bridge make a great day trip and will add to your already amazing Indiana vacation!
